Fitness, Pilates & Yoga instructor
Jo qualified with a BEd (Hons) in Physical Education in 1995 from Carnegie in Leeds and started teaching PE in a prestigious Secondary School in London specialising in Gymnastics and Dance. At the same time she developed a Personal Training business at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre.
In 2000, she stopped teaching PE to pursue her passion for Pilates and that year qualified with Body Control Pilates. Since then she has established a successful career, maintaining her enthusiasm and devotion towards health and well-being.
Jo’s clients continue to benefit from her desire to stay at the leading edge in her field so she undertook a two year Hatha Yoga qualification with FRYOG in 2010 to complement her passion for movement to help people of all ages to maintain their mental and physical well being.
Her passion for Pilates and its benefits shines through in all her teaching and her wider experience in choreography and movement means that she is able to provide a challenging, unique and varied approach every time.
“Fun, creative, never boring, technically sound, choreographically inventive and all while still promoting the core (ha!) method that is Pilates.
Pilates could be boring and actually too difficult for us mere mortals.
You make it accessible, without it being repetitive, and you treat everyone as capable of doing it, on some level, and we LAUGH!”
In January 2019, Jo produced her very first online video pilates course – Pilates exercises for Menopause. As someone who had gone through early onset menopause in her early 30’s, she wanted to help others. Movement and exercise are so beneficial to counteract the effects.
Later in 2019, she released her next course – Pilates Habits for busy people. She recognised that so many people are time poor, with little time for exercise.
In October 2019, she consolidated everything she had learnt online and with the help and feedback of her first 500 members and launched her new venture, Jo’s Weekly Workout Club. She releases brand new 30 minute workouts twice each week, monthly programmes and the Club includes all of her back catalogue too.
With over 200 workout videos to choose from, across 20+ categories, there really is something for every one of the nearly 1,500 members. And perhaps you too?
Jan 20th 2020 was pretty special – Jo got to train her long term client, Phillip Schofield, live on ITV’s This Morning.

“Your sheer joy of doing the job whilst understanding people’s personal needs, wobbles (mental and physical) and your empathy, compassion and great skills all shine through.
You join in and don’t just stand on the sidelines and dictate, you show us.”
